Let us save you the download hunt: there is no BetterJoy for Mac, Linux, or Android. No official version, no port in progress, no “BetterJoy APK”. The only genuine BetterJoy artifact in the world is a Windows program — v7.1, from the project’s GitHub — and any site offering a Mac build, a Linux package,…
Yuzu shut down in March 2024 under its settlement with Nintendo, and the two years since have produced a thicket of forks, relaunches and dead ends. Of all of them, exactly one line has verifiable, current, official releases as of our October 2026 check: Eden. This page gives you the successor landscape as we could…
Guides telling you how to “use BetterJoy with Citra” are describing a world that ended in March 2024, when Citra was shut down as part of the Yuzu settlement with Nintendo. The maintained successor is Azahar, and this page is about that program: what carried over from the Citra era, what we could verify about…
BetterJoy and Steam Input are both good at translating Switch controllers — and that is exactly the problem. Leave both in charge of the same pad and you get the classic symptoms: every button press registers twice, menus scroll on their own, or the game ignores the controller entirely. The fix is not a hack;…
Ryujinx is gone — the project shut down on 1 October 2024 after its lead developer reached an agreement with Nintendo, and its official repository, website and Discord went with it. Yet BetterJoy’s most defensible job in 2026 lives in Ryujinx’s family tree. The reason is a sentence from Ryujinx’s own README that still governs…
Search for BetterJoy and Dolphin long enough and you will run into pages offering a “BetterJoyForDolphin” download. Before the setup steps, the myth needs busting: there is no such product. No GitHub repository, no release line, no separate Dolphin edition exists. What exists is one program — BetterJoy — whose executable kept its original filename,…
Cemu is where BetterJoy started — the program’s executable is still literally named BetterJoyForCemu.exe — but the honest starting point for a 2026 guide is this: current Cemu can read a Switch controller’s motion natively, so BetterJoy is now one of two routes, not a requirement. This page walks through both, gives the full BetterJoy…
Windows 10 is the operating system BetterJoy grew up on. Version 7.1 was released in November 2021, when Windows 10 was still the default on most gaming PCs, and its documentation — including the official disconnect procedure — is written in Windows 10 terms. If your emulation machine still runs Windows 10, nothing about BetterJoy…
“Does BetterJoy still work on Windows 11?” is the most common question we see from people setting up a Switch controller on a current PC, and it deserves an evidence-based answer rather than a shrug. The short version: yes, BetterJoy v7.1 runs on Windows 11, and people are running it there right now — but…
